The Personal Touch: House Pets and Care
I am a mature woman that has many interests and passions, one of which is animals. Since a child I have had numerous cats, many different breeds of dogs from a Pekingese, Keeshond, Doberman, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and German Shepherds. I had the privilege of owning my own horse for many years and invested in a race horse at one time.
I have extensive experience with breeding, raising, training pit bulls and Rottweilers. As I later centered my attention on Rottweilers, for about 10 years, I hired an experienced dog importer from Germany that would scout out the different blood lines and I would import the most valuable for the use of breeding and training in the sport of Schutzhund. This is a sport that is extremely time consuming and demanding on a multitude of levels. The three phases of this sport are teaching your dog Obedience, Tracking, and Attack. My partner and I at the time trained with the best in the business and competed extensively.
Conditioning a dog in this consisted at the very least walk/run up to five miles a day to condition, swim them across lakes, and hiking for their pure enjoyment.
My personal philosophy when deciding on whether you are ready to own any pet, that you have a genuine love for the species and will dedicate the time to make their lives as enjoyable as your own. I am very against caging your dog in the house while away for long periods of time. I personally have never caged any of my dogs unless we were traveling. We have all heard the phrase “house cat” but never “house dog”.
For the first time in my life I do not have any animals. My Rottweiler passed away in 8/2015. When you love dogs the way I do I have felt a void in my life and with many changes in the past several years I have decided to start my own business centering around animals, positive people, and new business ventures.
